Make A Move Collective

The Make A Move Collective is a site-specific performance group and has been consisting of professional movers from the fields of Contemporary Dance, Physical Theater and Parkour since 2016: Salim Ben Mammar, Charlotte Brohmeyer, Jennifer Döring, Maria Golding, Wayne Götz, Clara Marie Müller, Tim Weseloh and Karoline Strys.

The artistic focus lies on choreographies on the threshold of Contemporary Dance and Parkour, which take place along a route through urban spaces. They disappear just as suddenly as they appear. The make a move collective invites you to look closely, to experience the environment and architecture from a different perspective and to get moving yourself. The audience can follow the performance from one point to the next, yet sudden actions have an effect on the random spectator as well.

The collective's pieces are regularly invited to festivals (including Urbäng! Festival Cologne; FARB BORKEN; tanzNRW Festival 2019 Essen Pact Zollverein, Zeitzeugfestival Bochum, "24 Hours PS" Pirmasens) and were most recently funded by NATIONALES PERFORMANCE NETZ - STEPPING OUT, as well as the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne for the production “positive Anschläge 0.1”, “You are here!” and “Moving Spaces”. In addition, the collective regularly offers training formats for various target groups.

The co-producer of the make a move collective is the company MOUVOIR / Stephanie Thiersch, which supports the work of the collective with structural, organizational and artistic advice. In addition to the creative core team, the make a move collective collaborates with recurring guest performers.
